Join us and celebrate the launch of our next exhibition, From Ear to Ear to Eye: Sounds and Stories from Across the Arab World.
From Ear to Ear to Eye is about listening and translation. The exhibition is concerned with how sounds can provide evidence or testimony, and the ways in which histories and experiences are intertwined with music.
From Ear to Ear to Eye brings together installations, sculptures, films, photographs, sound works, performances and archives by 17 artists of different generations. Artists include: Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Etel Adnan, Haig Aivazian, Mounira Al Sohl, Basma Alsharif, Ziad Antar, Marwa Arsanios, Ania Dabrowska, Malak Helmy, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Hiwa K, Jumana Manna, Joe Namy, Setareh Shahbazi, Raed Yassin and Shirin Yousefi.

Empty Orchestra by Urok Shirhan
In this work, Urok Shirhan stages a musical performance piece that concerns questions of nationality, synchronization and belonging.

Elsa Hewitt’s sound finds a new balance between song-writing and electronic composition; creating an ethereal electronic/dream-pop synthethis.
The home schooled electro avant garde will be taking over our Café.Bar. on the launch night of From Ear to Ear to Eye, narrating her own unique stories through synthetic sounds, found sounds and other-worldly vocals.
