Having recently moved back to his hometown of Nottingham, Rokk aka Paul Bryan has been a prominent figure and DJ on London’s queer club scene since 2001, working in both music and the visual arts. Previously an A&R man for Parlophone Records, he moved on to become resident at the infamous London club night ‘Boombox’ and followed that with his own night ‘Body Talk’ at Dalston Superstore in 2010.
Rokk is also a talented photographer and filmmaker and has worked with Seb Patane, Digitalism, Bella Freud, Tilda Swinton, John Maybury and Alexander McQueen on their recent fashion films, as well as directing his own music video for his 2011 release ‘Young, Black & Gay’ on Freshit Records. Recent video collaborations include DEFECTED records, Virgin Records and a music video for Dan Beaumonts ‘Trippy Pumper’ which was listed in a Timeout best of 2014 selection. His short film about Swedish pop singer Robyn is due for release this year.
